The Lime Kiln Theater is set within the walls of an abandoned century-old lime quarry and kiln.  The quarry was first used for a performance in 1967 when two Washington & Lee students produced A Midsummer Night’s Dream. That stage was “dark” after that first production until fifteen years later Tommy Spencer convinced the owner of the property to donate the use of the land to more stage productions. It is approximately 12 miles from us off the Blue Ridge Parkway near milepost 27. Crabtree Falls is the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River with a series of five major cascades among smaller ones that fall a total distance of 1,200 feet. This adventure is one of our most memorable getaway packages.  The first overlook is a short distance from the parking lot and follows a gentle meandering paved trail. Continue walking along a 3-mile path to four other overlooks with spectacular views. From the upper falls, the trail follows the creek another 1.2 miles to Crabtree Meadows. There is a daily $3 parking fee per vehicle at the public parking area. Our Crabtree Falls Package includes: - [Breakfast](https://steelestavern.com/breakfast/): Begin Your Adventure With Our Delicious Breakfast Our guests enjoy a hearty and delicious freshly prepared breakfast each morning. We proudly use many local ingredients in the preparation of our breakfasts supporting our neighboring farms and growers. We also grow some of our own herbs and vegetables to use in many of our breakfast dishes. We are happy to accommodate vegan, vegetarian, lactose intolerant, gluten free, and other dietary restrictions to the best of our ability.  We do request a minimum of 24 hours notification for special requests. Breakfast at the ManorThe coffee is ready in the Dining Room at 6:30 am every morning.  Manor guests can come down for a delicious cup of freshly ground coffee from a local roaster while breakfast is being prepared. We serve a plated breakfast at three times (8am, 8:30am, 9am) in the Dining Room or on the enclosed screened patio. A private table is set for you and the number of guests in your party. Our breakfasts include a fresh fruit cup or yogurt parfait followed by a hot entree. Muffins and breads contain products from Wade’s Mill and farm fresh eggs are delivered to us each week from Cross Creek Farm. Bacon compliments the meals from our local providers at Buffalo Creek Beef Farm in Lexington. Baked goods are always made from scratch and baked fresh daily. We purchase local cheeses from the Cheese Shop in Stuarts Draft. In short, we do everything we can to keep our breakfast foods local! When making your reservation, please tell us if you have any dietary restrictions, food allergies, or foods you would like us to avoid. We do our best to accommodate your needs. Lunch, Dinner and SnacksBreakfast is the only formal meal we serve, but we do have options available to our guests for lunch and light snacks. Lunch.  Cabin and Manor guests can order our Crab Tree Falls picnic for the perfect lunch for two.  Included is sandwiches, chips, side salad (pasta or potato salad), freshly baked sweets, fresh fruit, and water.  We pack this in a cooler so you can take it with you on your Shenandoah Valley adventure or enjoy it on our property. Snacks.  Our package menu includes an indulgent charcuterie board, or a brownie or fruit crisp skillet with ice cream.  These are great options for a lighter meal (or dessert).  See our Packages page for more information. Meal Options Offered to Our Cabin GuestsMeals are not included with a cabin rental, but our cabins have full-size kitchens with everything you need to prepare your meals. You just need to bring the food! But if you would like to pamper yourselves then we have a few options for you to enjoy. (See our Packages Page for a detailed description). Breakfast Basket – Sleep in and wake up to a delicious breakfast basket in the comfort and privacy of your cabin. Your basket will be waiting for you when you arrive at your cabin.  Breakfast baskets contain juice, milk, fresh fruit, muffins, yogurt and  granola and specialty coffee.  Or enjoy the Breakfast Like A Local Package. You can make your own breakfast using local products that we provide. The ingredients provided are usually enough for two breakfasts for two people.  For cabin guests we also offer a Grill Your Own Steak Dinner package.  Order this and it will be waiting for you in your cabin when you arrive. Please request any of these options when making your reservation or before your arrival.
