At Steeles Tavern Manor Bed & Breakfast and Alpine Hideaway Cottages, summertime is the perfect opportunity to use all the water features on the property.
During the late spring and early summer, it’s a great time to do a little fishing in our pond. Our one-acre pond is spring fed so you know it will stay fresh. There are a number of different breeds of fish in the pond including bass, blue gill, trout, and crappie. If you are staying in the Pond View Cottage, try your hand at casting and catching (and releasing) those aquatic escape artists. Did you know the benefits of fishing include boosting the immune system, teaching patience, promoting relaxation, and improving balance.
Enjoy a stroll on the path that leads along Marl Creek and back to the pond where Adirondack chairs await to give you a peaceful place for a little relaxation.
Our crystal clear swimming pool opens in mid-May and is open from dawn to dusk each day. Do a few laps before breakfast in the summer. Enjoy relaxing beside the pool on chaise lounge to soak-up a few rays of sun. Sip a cold drink at one of the patio tables while sitting under the umbrellas to keep you out of the direct mid-day sunshine. Some of the benefits of swimming include managing weight, boosting your mood, strengthening muscles, reducing stress levels, and improving sleep. Any way you look at it, the pool is the place to be on a hit summer day!
When you choose to stay in one of the Alpine Hideaway Cottages, you can enjoy your own secluded hot tub. The hot tubs are located on the back decks of each of the cottages – either under the night sky or with a view of the pond. On a chilly summer evening, the hot tub can warm you as well as relax you. A good soak in the hot tub will help reduce arthritic and chronic pain, reduce stress and anxiety, improve blood sugar, lower blood pressure, and may even decrease the frequency of migraine and tension headaches. Looking up at the night sky, your response will simply be “ahhhhhh”!
Which water activity do you choose for your stay at Steeles Tavern Manor B&B and Alpine Hideaway Cottages? Whichever you choose, you can improve your health and just enjoy the water!
