There are also plenty of wine tours and trails around the state, with northern Virginia wineries often ranking among some of the best.

  1. One of our favorite northern Virginia wineries – which also happens to be reasonably close to us – is Rockbridge Vineyards and Brewery. We send our guests here often, as not only are their award-winning wines (and beer!) delicious, they usually have live music and other fun events. They also host a couple of festivals in October that promise to be fantastic fun!
  2. Crosskeys Vineyards near Harrisonburg is one of the best Northern Virginia wineries. Their Tuscan-style wines are delicious, and their tasting room offers panoramic views of the stunning Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s a great place to enjoy a tasting in the fall!
  3. If you like Bordeaux-style wines, don’t miss a tasting at Ankida Ridge Vineyards. They are one of the most highly acclaimed northern Virginia wineries and are well known for their Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
