Back on the Trail

Does today’s beautiful weather make you want to get out and be active? Well, Virginia has got some great hikes, like the one we took last week just down the road at Betsey Bell Park in Staunton.

Bill out on the trail.

Betsey Bell is a challenging hike, but picnic areas and an overlook on the Blue Ridge Mountains provide great resting points. The Park is also just 15 minutes from downtown Staunton, in case you want to combine your hike with some lunch or shopping. Ambitious mountain bikers may also want to try this climb, and caution should be taken when driving a car up the narrow gravel path up the western face of the mountain. A four wheel drive vehicle is recommended.

View from the overlook.

The best part about this hike? After a good burn, you can come back to one of our cozy cottages for some well deserved pampering!

Happy trails!

Your Hosts,
Bill and Eileen Hoernlein
