When you attend a play at Blackfriars Playhouse, you must be a part of a performance. Yes – be a part of the performance! This one-of-a-kind theatre is designed and built like theaters were constructed back in Shakespeare’s times. The sets on the stage are usually minimal. The audience is covered by the lighting for the stage and is expected to react to the action on the stage.
A Christmas Carol on the stage of Blackfriars Playhouse will not be quite the same production you have seen in other theaters. You will almost feel as if you are a part of the Cratchit family and you will experience a few new surprises in this production. Enjoy the music and cheer of this long-beloved tale of Scrooge and his ghosts of Christmas.
Another new holiday production is a fast-paced version of Every Christmas Story Ever Told. Hold on to your seats as you travel through many of the traditional Christmas stories. The old classics, which may include references to Frosty, Rudolph, and the Grinch, will zip by along with laughter and joy of the season. Prepare to be entertained while feeling as if you are on a tinsel-covered rollercoaster ride!
