The Best Place for a Winter Getaway in the Shenandoah Valley

A winter visit to both the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Shenandoah Valley may not be at the top of mind when it comes to cozy places to retreat this winter – but when you factor in our luxury Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia, there’s truly no better place to whisk your sweetheart away for a few days. Our Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia are truly a one-of-a-kind getaway. Though we love something about this beautiful part of the world in every season of the year, there’s something special about the winter season.

Winter on the Blue Ridge Parkway is quiet and far less crowded than fall when it feels like the entire country is out for a scenic drive through these fabled mountains. Once the leaves fall for the season and a powdery white blanket of snow falls on them, it’s also exceptionally beautiful – in an entirely different way than the bright blaze of color so popular in fall. Whether you want to get out and enjoy a winter hike or snowshoe, or your idea is a cozy afternoon curled up by the fire, you can enjoy it all here at our luxury Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia.

Our luxury cabins in Virginia are the perfect couples’ getaway. They’re on the same property as our Bed and Breakfast in Virginia but nestled in their own scenic part of our 50-acre property. They offer an intimate vacation, perfect for couples looking to relax, unplug, and ease the stress of an often busy life. This winter, leave the world behind and embrace the quiet solitude of our luxury cabins in Virginia. Book your cabin getaway today!

With the exception of breakfast in the morning, guests at our romantic cabins in Virginia enjoy access to the same amenities as those staying in our Bed and Breakfast, including access to our seasonal in-ground swimming pool (May through September), a large deck adjoining pool with seating and lounge chairs, walking trails by pond and stream, a picnic area by the stream, our firepit, and more. There are plenty of things to do on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Winter, all easily accessible while enjoying a couples getaway at our luxury Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia

Explore the Blue Ridge Parkway in Winter

As cozy and delightful as our Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia are in the winter, an entire winter wonderland is waiting for you. Though there are plenty of great things to do in Staunton and Lexington, one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon is exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway in winter.

Though the Blue Ridge Parkway is well-known for its stunning fall foliage and has been popularized as one of America’s most popular scenic drives, there are also plenty of things to do on the Blue Ridge Parkway in winter! When you stay at our Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia, you’re within minutes of the northern entrance of the Blue Ridge Parkway – which means you’re minutes from endless fun in the Shenandoah Valley’s winter wonderland!

Whether you’re looking to enjoy scenic drives (just as good in winter!), invigorating hikes, or snowshoes to breathtaking mountain peaks, you’ll find plenty of things to do on the Blue Ridge Parkway in winter. We’ve listed some of our favorites below.

  1. There’s plenty of great hiking on the Blue Ridge Parkway in winter – and even if the trails are better explored on snowshoes, the gorgeous winter views are more than worth the effort!
  2. With far fewer cars on the road (and sometimes, even none due to weather!), winter is a great time to view wildlife on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  3. No matter the season, the Peaks of Otter area is one of our favorite places to explore on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The variety of trails here makes it easy for everyone to get out and enjoy this beautiful winter wonderland.
  4. Winter offers a unique opportunity for checking out the many Blue Ridge Parkway waterfalls, including Crabtree Falls, VA. In milder weather, the waterfalls are rushing and gorgeous – and in the winter freezes, they’re simply magical.
  5. One of the many great things about the Blue Ridge Parkway is exploring the surrounding towns – including Staunton and Lexington. These hip towns offer plenty of winter excitement, and neither is far from our top-rated Shenandoah Valley cabins in Virginia.

The beautiful Shenandoah Valley is filled with charming towns, excellent wineries and breweries, breathtaking scenery, and some of the most welcoming hospitality. There’s no better place to spend a few days this winter than our cozy cabins in Virginia – especially if you’re interested in exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway!
