The Pond View Cottage is located adjacent to our stocked pond. The spot is perfect for a little private fishing or for just quiet relaxation. The cottage boasts a covered back deck by the pond – so you can enjoy the deck while watching the raindrops create ripples on the pond. The deck also includes a hot tub, a patio table and chairs, and two lounge chairs. There is a gas grill for your use on the front porch. Step off the back deck and stroll by the pond to the Adirondack chairs. Sit back in an Adirondack chair and look up at the sky and the stars. You may hear a bullfrog or the “plop-plop” of the fish jumping in the pond. Relaxation was never easier to find than at the Pond View Cottage.
As you enter the Cottage, you leave the cares of the world behind. The cathedral ceiling gives the feeling of openness and the pine walls and ceilings give a warm, welcoming sense of place. The Pond View Cottage has a gas fireplace, a full kitchen (so you never have to leave), WiFi, and a flat screen TV (with Direct TV service). The bathroom has a double Jacuzzi tub. Luxurious robes are included for use during your stay in the cottage.
Since a full kitchen is at your disposal, you can bring your own food or choose one of our breakfast or dinner packages. You can select to have a breakfast basket delivered to your cottage. At 9:15am, your basket will arrive with juice, milk, fresh fruit, breakfast bread or muffins, yogurt, and homemade granola. Two Alpine Hideaway coffee mugs are provided for sipping our specialty coffee. Cost for the breakfast basket is $25 for two people. You can also choose to stroll to the Manor House and enjoy the traditional B&B breakfast. At 8:30am you can enjoy a full breakfast, including perhaps a home-cooked egg dish, Southern buttermilk biscuits or muffins, or special homemade pancakes or French toast with real maple syrup harvested in the highlands of Virginia.
If you will miss your canine family too much while you’re on vacation, bring him/her along to this cottage hideaway. The Pond View Cottage is pet-friendly and we even provide a doggie gate at the back deck to keep your four-legged family member with you. Take a walk on the nature trail that is located behind the pond. There will be lots of fun smells for your canine’s nose to explore!
